As a family we have chosen two charities close to our hearts Maggies and Claire house.

God made a wonderful mother,
A mother who never grows old;
He made her smile of the sunshine.
And He moulded her heart of pure gold;
In her eyes He placed bright shining stars,
In her cheeks fair roses you see;
God made a wonderful mother,
And He gave that dear mother to me.

Thoughts

It's very difficult to express the depth of our sorrow at Marion's passing, it only seems like yesterday when we worked together in a somewhat Dickensian office at Olleys Quantity Surveyors back in the 1970s and 80s, and I can't quite believe that she is no longer with us. Suffice to say that everyone was a little in love with Marion, she was always so full of fun and laughter and she and her partner in crime at the time, Vicky, were always a ray of sunshine in the working day. I do recall one time during the days of power cuts when we were all working by candle light and we were told we could leave early, but poor Marion didn't get the message and ended up sitting on her tod wondering where we had all gone! I worked with Marion for probably 10 years or so all told, and, although we haven't spoken for a number of years, we always exchanged Christmas cards without fail, which would also contain an update on each others lives. What I can say with absolute certainty is that she was simply bursting with pride and love for Matthew and Caroline, and everything that they have achieved, as well as her deepest love for Pete. We will also never forget the kindness that both Marion and Pete showed when we first got married and the furniture and all sorts of welcome necessaries they passed on to us for our first home, typical of Marion's (& Pete's) warm generosity. I've posted a photo from my 21st Birthday in 1979 which shows how we will always remember Marion, alongside her beloved Pete, with that wonderful smile, and we do offer our most sincere condolences to Pete, Matthew, Caroline and all of your families at this most difficult of times. We apologise for not being able to attend the celebration of Marion's life, but we will most definitely be raising a glass to her memory. The world is a much sadder place without her being here. Hi Marion's family. Have just heard the sad news of Marion. I worked with your mum at Fairtrades. She was a beautiful lady, so kind and supportive. A smile that could brighten my day.

Marion was a very special lady, who will forever stay in my heart. For over 17 years you have been my second family. We’ve been on holidays, days out, I’ve had countless sleepovers. We’ve been able to share precious memories, my wedding, meeting Ella & Otis. . . Not forgetting naughty Rumpole and Dexter who always ended up in the pond. You celebrated with me when times where good, and comforted me when they where not. Your door was always open. Your gorgeous grandchildren Erin, Florence & Henry will grow up always knowing what kind and lovely nana they had. I will keep my promise and always be there for Caroline. All my love always Hannah xx
